چکیده

The paper outlines main parameters and characteristics of the currently designed multichannel optical system for visible plasma radiation measurements on the COMPASS tokamak. It based on registration of visible light in large observation angle (~70-80o) for 35 lines of sights by means of detectors (photodiode or photomultiplier array) and spectrometer. System has resolution about 1cm in vertical direction. The aim of the introduced system is to get information about parameters of tokamak plasma (impurity content and their distribution) and fast prosesses which take place in it.

Measurements of Ion Temperature in the Edge Plasma of the COMPASS Tokamak

The ion temperature was estimated using measurements provided by optical system based on the two-grating spectrometer on the COMPASS tokamak. It was done by analysis of Doppler-broadened CIII spectral lines at about 465 nm. The ion temperature in the range of 30–35 eV was measured at the plasma edge in short low-current ohmic discharges.

Plasma tomographic reconstruction from tangentially viewing camera with background subtraction.

Light reflections are one of the main and often underestimated issues of plasma emissivity reconstruction in visible light spectral range. Metallic and other specular components of tokamak generate systematic errors in the optical measurements that could lead to wrong interpretation of data. Our analysis is performed at data from the tokamak COMPASS. It is a D-shaped tokamak with specular metal...

First Spectroscopic Measurements on the COMPASS Tokamak

Spectroscopic measurements were performed on the re-installed COMPASS tokamak during the first experiments. The impurity survey spectrometer HR 2000+ was used for registration of the most intense spectral lines in the 457–663nm visible range integrated over the discharge duration. The temporal evolution of integral visible light, Hα and hard X-rays intensities are measured by a photomultipliers...

On Use of Semiconductor Detector Arrays on COMPASS Tokamak

Semiconductor detector arrays are widely used in high-temperature plasma diagnostics. They have a fast response, which allows observation of many processes and instabilities in tokamaks. In this paper, there are reviewed several diagnostics based on semiconductor arrays as cameras, AXUV photodiodes (referred often as fast “bolometers”) and detectors of both soft X-rays and visible light install...

Estimation of Plasma Light in Thomson Scattering System Designed for the COMPASS Tokamak

The COMPASS tokamak, originally from Culham laboratory, UKAEA, has been reinstalled at Institute of Plasma Physics, Prague. Many innovations will be done and new diagnostics have to be constructed. Electron temperature Te and density ne as key parameters of fusion plasma will be measured directly by the newly designed high spatial resolution incoherent Thomson scattering system. The scientific ...
